Lisa Marie Van Dalen

March 18, 1991 — August 14, 2024

Clearlake, California

Lisa Marie Van Dalen, age 33, passed away suddenly on August 14, 2024, at her home, with her beloved mother by her side. Born on March 18, 1991, to Cathy and Phil Van Dalen, Lisa's life was a journey of pure love, joy, and artistic expression.

From the very beginning, Lisa faced challenges due to complications at birth, but she was always surrounded by love, especially from her devoted family. Her mother, Cathy, provided constant care and nurturing, creating a warm and joyful environment at home. Lisa shared a playful and silly bond with her father, Phil, with whom she loved to joke and laugh. She was also incredibly close to her sister, Laura, who was not only her sibling but also her protector and best friend. Together, they formed a circle of love that supported Lisa through all of life's ups and downs.

Throughout her life, Lisa formed deep connections with the many classmates, aides, therapists, and teachers she encountered. Each school she attended became a place where she left a lasting impression, and the bonds she created were truly meaningful to her. Many of these relationships endured over the years, a testament to the importance of those who supported and cared for her. Lisa's journey culminated at the ABC program in Lake County, where she not only continued to make cherished friends but also enjoyed various activities, including catching her first fish—a moment of pure joy that she treasured.

Lisa’s enthusiasm for life was evident in her many passions. She was a proud participant in the Special Olympics, where she channeled her energy into running track. Her love for jumping was unmatched, whether it was in her Johnny Jump Up, on her trampoline, or simply with her own two feet. But perhaps most notably, Lisa was a gifted artist. She had an extraordinary talent for drawing people, capturing intricate details that others might overlook, making each portrait a unique reflection of her perspective on the world.

Lisa is survived by her devoted parents, Cathy and Phil Van Dalen; her loving sister, Laura Pagliaro, and brother-in-law, Graham Pagliaro; as well as her aunts, uncles, and cousins who have blessed the family with many children of their own. Her memory will also be treasured by the many friends and caregivers who became family and were touched by her joyful spirit.

A Funeral Mass to celebrate Lisa’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 28th at St. Joseph Church in Cotati at 11:00 am. A Celebration of Life lunch reception will immediately follow. Those wishing to make a gesture of remembrance are invited to donate to Special Olympics or Easter Seals in Lisa's name.

The family is grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
