Lloyd H. Silacci

January 18, 1921 — July 20, 2014

Lloyd Silacci, born in Petaluma in 1921, passed away at home at the age of 93 on July 20, 2014. Lloyd served in the army in the South Pacific during World War II. He has always been associated with fast cars and racing. He owned full-service gas stations in Petaluma and a popular speed shop where he built precision motors for other Petaluma racers. Lloyd went to work in the aerospace industry designing and building sophisticated machinery. He moved to Southern California in 1962, then returned to Sonoma County in 1991. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, June Silacci, also a Petaluma native. Lloyd has two children, David Silacci (and his wife Sue Lewis), and Arlyn Silacci Pittler, all living in Santa Rosa. Lloyd will be missed by his family, friends and racing buddies. There will be a short graveside service at Calvary Catholic Cemetery on 304 Magnolia in Petaluma on Thursday July 31, 2014 at 10:00 AM. A memorial scholarship fund has been established for Lloyd at Santa Rosa Junior College Automotive Technology Department. Gifts should be mailed to the SRJC Foundation.
