Lois L. Gilchrist

Lois L. Gilchrist - Passed away on March 8, 2012 in Chico, CA. Devoted wife of the late Daniel D. Gilchrist, Jr. Cherished mother of Daniel D. Gilchrist, III (Karen) of Orland and Paul F. Gilchrist (Caryn) of Petaluma. Adored grandmother of Jennifer Trull (Nate) and Todd Gilchrist (Kristen). Beloved great-grandmother of Garrett, Madelyn, and Makenzi. Lois was born in Napa to Virginia and Ira Hein, but reared and educated in Petaluma, graduating in 1943 from Petaluma High School. She married Daniel Gilchrist in 1946 and together they enjoyed nearly 60 years of marriage. It was at this same time that she quite enjoyed riding her Harley as well as duck hunting. Lois worked as a teacherâ??s aide for Petaluma Junior High School and later as an entry clerk for the Sonoma County Fair. In her spare time, she enjoyed writing short stories and reading. Above all, she loved her family; she will be missed. Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Service, Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to your hospice of choice. Interment: Cypress Hill Memorial Park, Petaluma.
