Lois Jean Jones

LOIS JEAN JONES passed away on January 13, 2017 in San Rafael at the age of 89 years.  Devoted wife of the late J. Dick Jones.  Beloved mother of Sue Ferguson and Gayleen Klemme (Ken).  Cherished grandmother of Jamie Farrell (Jesse), Shelley Kennedy (Nigel), Ken Klemme (Desireé), and Greg Klemme.  Adored great-grandmother of Anthony, Rowan, Alexis, Athena, Kylee and Jacob.  Dear daughter of the late Martha Schultz and George Kruse.  Loving sister of Martha Mello and the late Leora Samuels, Elsie Kruse and Diann Kruse.  Survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Lois was born, reared and educated in Petaluma.  On January 15, 1950, she married the love of her life, Dick, and they settled in Marin County where they raised their family.  She was very active in her church and community.  She served as a Sunday School teacher at San Anselmo First Baptist Church and Lucas Valley Baptist Church.  Lois was a member of Rebekah Lodge #86 and past District Deputy and member of Santa Rosa Lodge #74.  Lois enjoyed playing the piano, painting, reading, finding treasures at garage sales, and gardening.  She worked as a caregiver, and her heart knew no bounds: she loved her family and friends.  She was a wonderful woman and will be greatly missed.

Friends and family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life, Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Rooster Run Golf Club, 2301 E. Washington St., Petaluma.  Memorial contributions may be made to your local Rebekah Lodge.  Private Inurnment.
