Lorraine F Adams

April 26, 1920 — September 29, 2014

Passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 29, 2014 after a brief illness. She was a woman of immense spirit, kindness and unconditional love. She will be missed by all who knew her. Lorraine was born in Tennessee Valley in Marin County to the late Joseph and Mayme Cunha. She moved to Petaluma with her family in 1926 and remained here for the rest of her life. She married Richard "Dick" Adams in 1947. They are survived by 2 children, Jocelia Adams and R. Joseph Adams, 4 grandchildren, Janis & Jaime Phillips and Jeremy & Evan Adams, and 2 great-grandsons, Teegan Adams and Alex Rivas. She is also survived by her very special cousin, Jeanne Ferrera Cort and her daughter, Kelly Cort and numerous other loving cousins. Lorraine also had a brother who died a hero in 1943 during WWII. She worked for Deaton, Roberts & Niles Accounting firm for over 30 years and became an attendant for Sunrise Assisted Living until she was 84 years old. She enjoyed golf, gardening, her card club, going to the casino and trips to the theater in San Francisco. And she LOVED her animals. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Liturgy on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma, CA. 94952. A Visitation will be held at the mortuary on Sunday, October 5, 2014 from 11:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 3:00 P.M. Private burial at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Petaluma, CA. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorial contributions be made to Forgotten Felines of Sonoma County ,1814 Empire Industrial Ct., Santa Rosa, CA, 95403.
