Lorraine Olga Johnsen was born August 5, 1927 in Petaluma to Hans and Olga Nissen. She entered the arms of Jesus December 2, 2021 in Petaluma, having lived on a chicken ranch for 94 years. She is survived by her sister Arlene Klein, three children, Diane Farrar (Mike), Larry Johnsen (Pam) and Dale Johnsen (Karen), three grandchildren, Peter Johnsen, Elizabeth Kizito and Helene Johnsen, and seven beautiful great-grandchildren plus numerous nieces and nephews.
Lorraine went to Wilson School, graduated from Petaluma High in 1945, and enjoyed playing the accordion for Danish Lodge dances. Lorraine worked as a bank teller in downtown Petaluma. She met Edmund Merle Johnsen at Elim Lutheran Church and married him on April 20, 1947. Together, they built a successful egg-producing business on six acres on Liberty Road. Her family enjoyed many vacations camping and fishing at Lake Shasta, water-skiing at Lake Berryessa, and swimming at the Russian River. She and Ed travelled the USA in their motorhome and enjoyed three trips to Denmark. After Ed died in 1993 from cancer, she continued traveling with the Danish Brotherhood RV Club, visiting her great-grandchildren, gardening and served at Elim Lutheran Church. She felt very blessed to have enjoyed a full and meaningful life. She was our peaceful angel - and will be deeply missed.
