Lorraine Soto

It’s with great sadness that the family of Lorraine Soto announce her passing on December 31st 2018 at the age of 67. She died peacefully yet somewhat unexpectedly in her sleep at home from Pulmonary Hypertension and COPD. She is survived by her daughter Susan of Portland OR, sister Becky and husband Bob Swart of San Jose, brothers Tom and his wife Cindy of Santa Rosa, Robert and his wife wife Robin of Napa, cousin Debi Pacheco of Rohnert Park, Sister-Niece Christine and husband Hasan Dag of San Francisco, current partner Stewart Colen of Petaluma, previous long time partner and friend Carl Hilf of San Jose. She is also survived by countless beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and very special friends who have been family to her.

Lorraine was born to Alice (Pacheco) and Tom Highshoe in San Francisco, she was the oldest of 4, raised in San Francisco then moved to San Jose where she graduated from W.C. Overfelt High School in 1969. She began her career as a customer service professional with General Electric and retired from National Appliance in Marin. She was an expert in her field, highly regarded and valued by both her customers and colleagues. She moved from San Jose to Cotati to provide at home end of life care for her mother followed by her grandmother Rebecca. She loved gardening especially tending to her flowers and succulents and feeding the birds. Lorraine was especially 'famous' for finding outrageous ways to get people laughing!! Most importantly, above all else, she valued and cherished spending time with her beloved family and friends. She was one of those people who always remembered your birthday or anniversary and possessed the rare gift of making everyone feel special. She was a zany, light hearted generous woman with unconditional love for all. We will carry our happy memories of her in our hearts always ~ she will be greatly missed.

Friends and family are invited to attend the Memorial on Saturday, February 2, 2019  from 11:30 am-12:30 pm Graveside Service at Santa Rosa Memorial Park Veterans Lawn, 1900 Franklin Ave, Santa Rosa, CA 95404. A Celebration of Life Reception will be held from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Vintners Inn, 4350 Barnes Rd., Santa Rosa, CA 95403.
