Lt. William Tobin

Lt. William J. Tobin - After a quiet battle with cancer, Bill passed away peacefully at home in Petaluma, surrounded by his loving family. He was 64 years old. Devoted husband of Jane Tobin. Cherished father of Melanie Tobin Dilleshaw, Katie Tobin Smith and Karen Tobin Navarro, and esteemed father-in-law. Adored grandfather of Samuel and Eloise Navarro. Survived by his faithful canine companion, Lucy. Bill was born and raised in San Francisco, graduating from Lick-Wilmerding High School. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the Naval Air Reserve. He received his degree from SF City College. On May 3, 1969 he married Jane and together they enjoyed over 40 years of marriage. In September of 1969 he joined the San Francisco Fire Department, where he served for 28 years. Bill enjoyed golfing, cooking, and sports, especially watching his favorite team, the Sharks. Above all, Bill loved his family; he will be greatly missed.
