Lucille Jean Dolcini

April 1, 1951 — August 2, 2024

San Rafael, California

Our beloved sister Lucille Jean Dolcini passed away peacefully on August 2, 2024 in San Rafael, California at age 73.

Lucille was the oldest child of Peter and Louise Dolcini of Hicks Valley.   She was bright, vivacious, creative and playful.  She was always drawn to the arts; she was a talented painter, and a great storyteller, with an abiding love for music.  She graduated from St. Vincent de Paul High School in Petaluma in 1969, where she was Homecoming Queen.   She attended CSU Sonoma for one year, until she was severely disabled by a mental illness.  Her illness changed the course of her life, but it never touched her core spirit of playfulness and sweetness, or her love of music.  She loved to sing!

She is survived by her siblings Thomas Dolcini (Carlene), Marilyn Benedetti (Herm), Carol Dolcini (Abe), Elaine Dolcini, and Barbara Reedy (Michael), birth daughter Jocelyn Pride  (Zack), birth granddaughter Malaika Pride, many nieces and nephews, and countless cousins.  Her family remembers her with love and great fondness.

She had, and will continue to have, a profound influence on many lives.

Services will be private.  The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff at Marin Post Acute for their kind care for Lucille in her waning days.  Donations in Lucille’s honor can be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, Sonoma County.
