Lynda (Steffens) Adams

October 9, 1955 — July 6, 2024

Petaluma, California

Lynda Steffens Adams was born on October 9, 1955 to Stanley and Ellie Steffens where she took her place in what was to be the middle of five sisters growing up in San Rafael.  Sadly, she left this earth far too soon on July 6, 2024 from a third and final battle with breast cancer.  She fought cancer valiantly, not only by enduring what seemed to be endless treatments, but by being actively involved with Relay for Life. Through this, she honored cancer survivors that she knew, and remembered angels that she’d lost to this horrific disease.

After graduating from San Rafael High in 1973, Lynda made her way through life as a well-known banker. She retired from Bank of America after 32 years, followed by her retirement from Exchange Bank after 8 years. She spent her retirement, enjoying road trips in her RV with her partner Paul, soaking up time with her grandchildren, going to the theater with her daughter, and making it memories with her cherished friends and family.

To know Lynda, was to love her. She will be missed by many; but her beautiful smile, kind heart will live on in the people she graced with her presence.

Lynda is survived by her partner Paul Dana, daughter Christina Bakke, grandchildren Daniel and Bella Bakke, mother Ellie Steffens and sistersCharlene McDaniel of San Mateo, Cathy Parsons (Clete) of Crowley, TX and Mollie Nichols of Santa Rosa.  She also leaves behind her niece Angelea Rombeiro and nephew Justin Steffens, an aunt, uncle and cousins from Joliet, IL and an aunt and cousins from Sacramento, her Dana family; Larry, Barbara, Jasmine and Halle, as well as her former husband Brad Adams of Sonoma and in-laws Steve and Barbara Adams of Pacifica. Lynda was pre-deceased by her son Dan Adams, granddaughter Madison Bakke, sister Ellie Steffens and her father Stanley Steffens.

We wish to thank Dr. Kaiser from Oncology and her palliative care team, plus the amazing team from Hospice of St. Joseph’s as well as all those who offered prayers, love and support.
