Lynn Kelley Bernstein, greatly beloved wife and soul mate of Peter Bernstein, passed away peacefully at home on April 12, 2021. Lynn was an avid horsewoman, a crack shot, an astute boxing fan, and a steadfast companion to Peter in every adventure he embraced. She was his greatest supporter, a woman of deep and unshakeable Christian faith, and a loving mother to their son, Micah Bernstein.
Lynn was born in Lake Forest, Illinois on November 9, 1934. Her early life was marked by wealth, high society, and privilege, including an early first marriage with three children: Amos Poole, Ellen Rankin, and Cynthia Gallivan. After a divorce, Lynn began training for a career in psychotherapy. When Lynn met Peter, she pursued and found with him the life she longed for, full of genuine love and the things that matter most in life.
Lynn’s quiet strength and grace touched many, many people. Her example of selfless love and courage inspired all who knew her well. She is survived by her loving husband, Peter, and their son, Micah, his wife Becky and their children, Samantha and Ezra.
Services for Lynn will be held at Cypress Hill Cemetery in Petaluma on Wednesday, April 21st at 2:00 PM. Following the service, a gathering is planned at Alfredo’s Restaurant, 1426 E. Washington Street, Petaluma.
