Lynn Zinkl was a powerful wife and mother, an inspiration to women of all ages for her intelligence, fiery passion, and relentlessness. L ynn was born on March 4, 1968 to Don Silva and Joan Milner. Although starting her path as a proud Petaluma High Trojan, she graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in Spokane, Washington. After graduating, Lynn served two honorable years in the U.S. Army, a testament to her iron will . On her return to Petaluma, she married Vince Zinkl in 1995. Two years later, the joy of her life appeared with the birth of their son, Zane. One of her proudest moments was her time as President of the Wilson Elementary School PTA where she proved to be a role model for young girls . Had she not been stricken with a degenerative disease, she surely would have done even more to serve her community . After many years of intense suffering from Huntington’s Disease, a disease that warps the mind, body, and spirit, Lynn finally found her peace on October 17, 2022.
She is survived by a husband of 27 years, Vince, who never left her side despite her crippling disease and its delusions. She is also survived by her only son Zane of whom she was eternally proud. As a fifth generation Petaluman , she was adored by a multitude of friends, grandparents, aunties, uncles, and cousins. Her last years in a retirement home were made infinitely better by the wonderful attention she received from her caregiver Rina, her ceaselessly positive cousin Genene Pedrotti, her loyal friend Sandra Ish-Albini , and her faithful auntie, Doris Bostrom. She received joyful visits from her adoring step-sister Shauna Klimpt and her favorite cousin Chris Pedrotti and his wife Denise, who always found time for a heartfelt visit . Lynn is only the latest in a long line of women to be stricken with Huntington’s in the family, along with her sister Karon, mother Joan, aunt Gerry, and grandmother Mick ie . Lynn loved her family and her pet cats. Her sarcastic sense of humor brought smiles and laughs to everyone . She was a beautiful woman who will be remembered forever.
