Mabel Evelyn Hlebakos

Mabel Evelyn Lafranchi Hlebakos passed away peacefully on January 4, 2023 at the age of a 103 years young. Beloved wife of the late James Hlebakos. Loving mother of Cynthia Siebe (Ron) and Cheryl Hlebakos. Adored Grandmother of Sharon and James Siebe (Maya). Great-Grandmother of Lauren and Hailey Siebe. Godmother of Bill Paganetti Jr. Preceeded in death by her parents Alfonso and Lena Lafranchi, and her sister Esther Paganetti (Bill). Prior to her marriage, Mabel was an office supervisor at Hamilton Airforce Base during WWII.  A native of Petaluma, Mabel was a graduate of St. Vincent's High School, class of 1937. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church and a member of St. Vincent's Mother's Club. Mabel was a dedicated wife and mother, and a bonus grandmother to many. Mabel was kind, witty, youthful, faithful, strong, compassionate, determined, spunky, generous, stylish, and loving. Can't remember a detail? Ask Mabel, she did. Avid football fan. Busiest social calendar of all. She had a great sense of humor, a stellar character, and was awesome! Mabel will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 8, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm with a Vigil Service at 4:00 pm at Parent-Sorensen Mortuary and Crematory, Petaluma. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 9, 2023 at 11:00 am at St. Vincent de Paul Church, with interment following at Calvary Cemetery. The family prefer memorials be made to Petaluma Valley Hospital Foundation, 400 No. McDowell Blvd., Petaluma, CA 94954, St. Vincent Elementary School, Union and Howard Sts., Petaluma, CA 94952 or St. Vincent High School, 849 Keokuk St., Petaluma, CA 94952.
