Passed away at home on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Emil J. Poncia. Loving mother of Dorothy Aggio of Rohnert Park, Stan Poncia of Santa Rosa, and the late Jerry Poncia. Mother-in -law of Maureen. Cherished grandmother of 9, great grandmother of 16, and great great grandmother of 1. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Almo Casella, Olga Conti and Hilda Heil. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A native of San Francisco, CA. Age 99 years. Madeline was a hard worker on the family dairy, and very active for many years. Her home was always open and she welcomed everyone in to enjoy a cup of coffee and cookies along with her homemade raviolis. She was a loving mother and grandmother who lived for her family and enjoyed working in her garden. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, ICF Branch #150 of Cotati. Madeline's family express their appreciation to her caregiver, Maggie, for the wonderful care she gave her during the past four years.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 30, 2013 at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Vigil Service will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 150 St. Joseph Way, Cotati at 7:00 pm on Monday evening. Family and friends are also invited to attend the Funeral Mass, Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Private entombment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Petaluma. The family prefer memorials be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund, Sutter Care at Home, 110 Stony Point Road, Suite 200C, Santa Rosa, CA 95401 or to your favorite charity.
