Marc Charles Stanley

Marc Charles Stanley was born in Corte Madera, California at Marin General Hospital on May 5, 1960 to Melvin and Barbara Stanley. He grew up in Fairfax, CA. In 1995 he was married to Dawn Stanley for 25 years. On July 15, 2022, at the age of 62, he died unexpectedly at his home in Rohnert Park, CA. He is survived by his two daughters, Barbara Nicole Stanley, who recently graduated with a BFA in Musical Theatre from Chico State, and Erin Michel Stanley, who is currently studying to be a veterinarian while attending University of Arizona. Marc is also survived by his older brother, Melvin DeFord Stanley III, who is retired and residing in Olympia, Washington. During Marc’s lifetime, he attended Sir Francis Drake High School and then followed his dream of becoming a commercial pilot by first getting his private pilot license. He continued to follow his pilot dream by becoming a flight instructor and eventually a commercially rated pilot who had the pleasure of flying professionally for 30-plus years. His second passion to flying was racing, whether it was in the driver’s seat or watching it on TV. As he began to contemplate retirement, he started working part time at Huffaker Motorsports which brought him so much joy. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on his racecar, gokarting, bragging about his daughters, volunteering at the Rohnert Park Animal Shelter, perfecting a good steak and since he had two daughters, he had achieved the perfect ‘ponytail'. Aside from being a dedicated father, he was known for cracking a good dad-joke and making everyone feel welcome in his home.
