MARGARET LOUISE "BILLIE" HUGHES passed away on January 5, 2014 in Petaluma. Devoted wife of the late Donald Hughes. Cherished mother of Richard Hughes (Marilyn) of Bodega and Terry Nommsen of Petaluma. Adored mother-in-law of the late Fred Nommsen. Beloved grandmother of Shelley Fiori (Peter) of Benicia, Jeffrey Hughes (Kathy) of Cotati, Cheryl Mohrman (Chris) of Rohnert Park, and Mike Nommsen (Lori) of Santa Rosa. Loving great-grandmother of Eric Nommsen of Santa Rosa, Lacey Nommsen of Rohnert Park, Kelsey Mohrman of Petaluma, John Mohrman of WA, Rebecca Powell (Grant) of WA, Leslie Montgomery (James) of Suisun City, Kimberly Fiori of Benicia, and Jacob Hughes of Cotati. Dear great-great-grandmother of Bryson, Natalie, Brenner, and Kendell Powell all of WA; and Wyatt Nommsen of Santa Rosa. Loving sister of the late Audrey Parsons. Survived by one niece. Age: 93 years. Billie was born in Canada, but reared and educated in Burlingame. She met her husband Donald while still in high school. They married on September 16, 1938, and together they enjoyed 69 years of marriage. Over the years, Billie worked in a retail store, wrapped meat for Ibleto's, and worked alongside her husband on the family dairy. However, her favorite job was a homemaker. She loved supporting her children in all of their endeavors while growing up. Billie was a wonderful woman; she will be missed. At her request, no services will be held.
