Margaret Martin Paull - Margaret Martin Paull passed away peacefully at her Bodega Bay home on Monday, December 13th. Sheâ??d been diagnosed with terminal cancer just three weeks prior and was active and happy until just before her death. She was blessed to have 95 good years before leaving us.
Margaret was born in Petaluma on September 27, 1915, to Paul Colby and Kathryn Gravatte Martin, who were living in Bloomfield at the time. She is survived by her son, Preston Martin Paull and his wife Gayle, of Sebastopol; her granddaughter, Shawnde Kathryn Bausch and her husband, Paul, and their children Edward Lucas and Samantha Margaret of Corvallis, Oregon; and her grandson, Preston Martin Paull, Jr. and his wife, Anya, and their child Preston Thomas Asher Paull, of Sebastopol.
In 1971 she purchased property in Bodega Bay where she has resided since 1973, enjoying having the leisure to pursue her interest in history, in developing an extended family history and in writing a comprehensive memoir of the Two Rock Valley as it was when she was growing up there. She and her granddaughter completed the second edition of this book, The Valley of the Trail Between the Two Rocks, shortly before her death.
She took great joy in her extended family and cherished her time with them. She loved caring for her garden, traveling, and the San Francisco Giants.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, December 19, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma, California. A Visitation will be Saturday, December 18 from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the mortuary. She is also survived by her sister, Frances M. Waite, of Santa Rosa; her brother, Kenneth P. Martin of Two Rock; nephews, Paul E. Martin and his wife Jill, of Two Rock, Kenneth P. Martin II, and Colby V. Martin of Clovis; and her nieces, Sharon W. Fernandez and her husband, Al, of Santa Rosa, and Cheryl Devine and her husband, Frank, of Two Rock, along with numerous grand- and great-grand nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Claude F. Martin and his wife, Blanche; her sister-in-law, Margie, all of Two Rock; and her brother-in-law Charles Waite of Santa Rosa.
