Margaret Jane Potts

Margaret Jane Potts - Born in Galesburg, IL, Jane died peacefully in Santa Rosa, surrounded by loving family. She lived in Oakmont for 30 years and was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John L. Potts. They were married in Seattle, WA during WWII and moved to Concord, CA with their three young children in 1956. During her life she was a schoolteacher in Illinois and a librarian at Concord High School. Upon retirement they moved to Oakmont where she lived an active life until her health declined. After John passed in 1983, Jane devoted herself to volunteering and travelling the world. She was active in her church, made tactile books for blind children and made blankets for the Valley of the Moon Children"s Home. When not volunteering she was on the road visiting China, Kenya, Egypt, Russia, Europe and South America as well as visiting most of the United States.
