SHERMAN, MARGARET GRACE - Entered into rest peacefully at home in Santa Rosa, CA on October 14, 2013. Born January 11, 1919 in Marysville, CA, she is survived by her husband Francis since 1948, sons; Dennis Sherman of San Francisco and Roger Sherman of Sebastopol, granddaughter Dinah Sherman of Belmont and great grandson Chris Hayashi in Japan. She was preceded in death by her son, Steven Sherman in 2004 and grandson Graham Sherman in 2007.
She worked as a secretary in Yuba City for the Sheriff, for the Decker Jewett Bank in Marysville and for the California Department of Employment Chico, Sacramento and Fresno-in migrant camps during the Great Depression, including Brawley and Calipatria.
She graduated from Cal State LA with a Bachelors Degree in Sociology and worked with "Friends Outside" in Pasadena and Santa Rosa.
While assisting at the office of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Santa Rosa, she was asked to be the first secretary of the Spirited Seniors-started by Jerry Cahill. She will be remembered for her years of service in whatever endeavors she adopted.
