Margherita Bergamo-Schaffer

Margherita Bergamo-Schaffer, "Bella", died peacefully on Dec 4th, surrounded and comforted by her family, friends, and caregivers, all who loved her very much. Margherita was free spirited, and more times than not, the life of the party. She loved music, dancing, dining out, and making new friends with every person she met. Margherita was born in New York City on May 6th 1922. Margherita grew up in New York where she met and married her late husband Anthony Bergamo. Together they raised 4 daughters, until his passing in 1981. In 1990, Margherita moved to Petaluma, CA to begin the second chapter in her life. She became active in the community, volunteering at Petaluma Valley Hospital and the Luther Burbank Center for the arts. Here she met Jack Schaffer and the two were married. They enjoyed a fun-filled life together until his passing. Margherita is survived by her children, Beatrice Lee, Toni Clark, Vanessa Bergamo, and Yvette Bergamo and by her 5 grandchildren Chris Clark, Kerri Clark, Todd Lee, Scott Lee, and Nikkoel Kieffer Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Liturgy on Wednesday December 9th, 2015 at 12 Noon at the Parent-Sorensen Mortuary & Crematory, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma, CA.
