Maria Eduarda Fonseca

MARIA EDUARDA FONSECA passed away on September 9, 2017 in Petaluma at the age of 78 years.  Devoted wife of the late Frank Fonseca.  Cherished mother of Jorge Fonseca, Luisa Fonseca, Maria Dryden, John Fonseca, Catherine Madrid and Julie Fonseca.  Adored grandmother of six.  Loving sister of Norbert Sousa, Maria Esmeralda Barbosa, Maria des Anjos Duffy, Maria Frances Silva, and Anthony Sousa.

While a native of Furnas, São Miguel, Azores, she lived most of her life in Northern California.  Guided by her deep faith and love of God, she selflessly sought to help others before herself.  She is remembered as a loving, devoted, and generous mother and grandmother.  She will be greatly missed.

Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. James Catholic Church, 125 Sonoma Mountain Pkwy., Petaluma.  A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a Vigil Service at 6:00 pm at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Ships or Oblate Missions.  Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Petaluma.
