Marianne Kathleen (O’Callaghan) Gazzano, age 78, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2024 due to Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born August 14, 1946, in San Francisco, California to Gene and Helen O’Callaghan. She married her longtime friend and love, Richard Gazzano, on February 7, 1970. Marianne was born and raised in San Francisco, California. She loved the community she grew up in and graduated from St. Paul’s Catholic High School. She was compassionate, intelligent, and trustworthy. She had a passion for child development and worked as a preschool teacher for several decades. She was deeply dedicated to guiding young children and took advantage of college courses throughout her career in order to enhance and hone her teaching skills. Marianne adored all children, and she was a devoted educator who taught children to be knowledgeable and respectful individuals. In addition to her career, Marianne also enjoyed caring for her rose garden, learning about her Irish heritage, going to Reno, and taking trips to visit extended family throughout California and the East Coast. Marianne cherished her many friendships. But most of all, Marianne delighted in being a grandma and loved her five grandchildren, Patrick Gazzano, Carver Pacheco, Annabelle Pacheco, Dylan Gazzano and Everett Pacheco, with all her heart. Marianne is survived by her beloved husband, Richard Gazzano, along with her cherished big sister, Eileen Woods. She is also survived by her two children, her son, Shawn Gazzano (his wife Leticia Gazzano), and her daughter, Paula Pacheco (her husband, Nole Pacheco). Marianne has a large extended family with many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles that she also loved and touched deeply.
“May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sunshine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.”
~Irish Blessing.
