Marie C. Anderson

Marie C. (Petersen) Anderson - Passed away peacefully at home, Jan. 31, 2012. Marie was born Oct. 22, 1922 in Leck, Germany. At age 5, she came to the USA with her parents Gottfried & Anna Petersen. They came here by cargo ship through the Panama Canal to San Francisco. When she was 8 they moved to Petaluma and later started a chicken ranch. Marie attended Petaluma High School where she met Albert Anderson. Marie is survived by her daughter Nancy & partner Janal, cousins Christa Bechler, Mark Petersen (Margaret), Hildegard Shook (Tom), many relatives abroad and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Marieâ??s life at her home on Friday, Feb. 10 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. A very special thank you to the hospice caretakers of Petaluma and Candace. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Petaluma, 416 Payran St., Petaluma, CA 94952. Family assisted by PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, Petaluma. After high school Albert went into the Air Force and became a pilot. They were married in 1943. Marie traveled with Albert as he was stationed at different airbases.
