Marilyn was born in June 17, 1933 to Robert and Dora Pinkerton, the younger sister of Donald and Dorothy. She passed away on February 17, 2025 after a lengthy illness.
Born and raised in Petaluma, she worked for many years at Wells Fargo Bank as a loan officer. She married Charles Gervasoni in 1971. After she retired from the bank, she donated over 100,000 hours to Petaluma Valley Hospital Auxiliary as a volunteer in the hospital gift shop as a bookkeeper, floral arranger and salesperson. She was an active member of the Petaluma Garden Club and Young Ladies Institute (YLI) and attended events with the Sons of Italy and SIRS with Charlie.
Marilyn’s happiest days were spent with her husband, Charles Gervasoni and her family. They were married for 34 years, until his passing in 2005. Together they traveled to many places around the globe. They were able to see the sights in Alaska, England, Scotland, Wales, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Russia, among others. She continued to travel with friends and family to Savannah, Georgia, Hawaii, Scotland, France, Germany, Switzerland, Yosemite, Yellowstone and Washington DC. She moved to Fresno in 2011 to be nearer to her oldest nephew’s family.
Marilyn was predeceased by her loving husband Charles, her parents Robert and Dora Pinkerton, her siblings Donald Pinkerton and Dorothy Blomquist and her brother-in-law Harold Blomquist, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Left behind to mourn her passing are her nephews and their families: Mark Blomquist (Susan), Robert Blomquist (Tracy Burke), William; her great nephews Patrick Blomquist (Marlena and son Deqclan), Erik Blomquist, Lucas Blomquist (and fiancée Sara), and her great niece Kate Blomquist, as well as her cousin Teddy Goodrich. Her good friends Elaine Cheda and Arlene McClure, Charlie’s cousin Margaret Gambonini, as well as her dog Scotty will miss her, too.
Her devoted caregiver Arlene Moon, helped her in her days before and after Charlie’s passing while she lived in Petaluma, prior to her move to Fresno. Marilyn was lovingly cared for by her ‘ladies’ Erika Pashayan, Kristine Kinatyan, Karine Khachatrain and Nancy Sargisyan (while living in Fresno) and supported by Bristol Hospice in her final years. Their combined care allowed her to stay in her own home, surrounded by her family and her dogs.
We will miss her great cooking, beautiful needlework projects, gardening and floral arrangements, love of travel and joy of reading a good mystery or solving her daily Sudoku puzzles.
