Marilyn Anne Slater - Marilyn Anne Slater was born on August 19, 1931 while her mother was vacationing at a summer cottage on Long Island. She arrived weighing 2 pounds, 2 ounces and her first bed was a shoe box. Marilyn was the only child of Doris Edwards Slater of Liverpool, England and her husband, Bernard Michael Slater of Brooklyn, New York. Marilyn fell and broke her back in 1995. Despite being told she could never live independently again, she did return to her apartment to live for 13 years, with the help of aides. She was very appreciative of these aides, many of whom became close friends. Marilyn loved children, social interactions, and travel. Her friends are grateful to the staff of Parkview Gardens for their loving care and kind support of Marilyn over the past several months. Marilyn fell and broke her back in 1995.
