Marjorie M. Hardin - Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and friends on January 22, 2008, in Santa Rosa, CA, at the age of 88. Margie, as she liked to be called by those close to her, was the beloved wife of the late Ray R. Hardin for more than 40 years. She was the loving mother of June M. Hardin-Silva (Kris Culp) of Santa Rosa, stepmother of Carolyn L. Ryder (Russell) of San Jose, and grandmother of Cheryl McWard (Jeff) of San Jose, Stacey Johns (Dan) of Granite Bay, Craig Ryder (Mary) of Granite Bay and the late Scott Ryder. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren. Margie was the daughter of the late Marino and Marie Soldati of Petaluma, and the stepsister and close friend of the late Margaret Sambuck (Louis). Margie was very proud to say she was a third generation Petaluman. Before marrying and becoming a lifelong homemaker and mother who enjoyed her family, friends, golf, bridge and antiques, Margie worked briefly for Tomasini Hardware and Wells Fargo Bank. She was also very proud to have served her country as a member of the United States Marine Corps for two years during WWII. During the first years of their marriage, Margie and Ray lived on the Hardin ranch in the Sonoma Mountains before moving to town. Margie was a positive influence to all and a lady to the end who never compromised her dignity and self-respect. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
