Passed quietly at home in Petaluma. Born to Elliott and Iona Obrecht in Harlan, Iowa, she moved to California shortly after marrying her spouse of 57 years, Jon House. Marjorie lived 30 years in Novato, where she and Jon raised their family before retiring to Grass Valley. Her family was her center; she was devoted to her kids and grandkids, and completely in her element with babies. Marjorie never missed a grandchild’s sporting event, play or piano recital. She loved traveling, sewing and crafting of all kinds, reading and writing stories, and playing cards. Her home was always open to friends and family.
She is survived by her children: Gary (Betty) House, David (Yvonne) House, Lori (Mike) Salerno, Suzy (Shane) Symons; grandchildren: Ashley (Matt) Brand, Heather, Brent and Dylan House, Sara and Lauren House, Joe and Robbie Salerno, Brooke and Jake Symons; great grandchild, Carson Brand; siblings: Glenny Wendelin, Bill (Linda) Obrecht, Lea (Jim) Pinkerton and a large extended family. Preceded in death by her husband, Jon House, and her brother, Tom Obrecht.
At Marjorie’s request, no services will be held. The loving heart of her family, she is deeply missed.
