Mark "Bub" Pengel

MARK “BUB” PENGEL passed away on July 7, 2017 in St. Helena at the age of 64 years.  Devoted husband of the late Donna Pengel.  Dear companion of Gina Leoni.  Doting father of Rebecca Simon (James), Jason Pengel (Andrea), Amy Erta (Raymond), Amanda Pengel, Jessica Pengel, and Jarred Pengel.  Beloved grandfather of Annalise, Vivian and Henry Pengel; and Olivia Erta.  Adored son of LaVerne Pengel and the late Hank Pengel.  Loving brother of Margie Minner (Dave), Mindy Pengel (Denise), Mary Lou Bahn (Al), Marie Elyse Curzon (Tom), Michelle Campagna (Mitch), Matthew Pengel (Karla), Miriam Pengel (Debbie), Molly Pengel (Shawna), and Maura Pengel.  Cherished son-in-law of the late Rita Chase; and Jackie and Robert Chase.  Loving brother-in-law of Kevin Chase (Theresa). Survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A San Francisco native, Mark graduated from Archbishop Riordan High School in 1970.  He was a man of great faith and passion, as evidenced by his commitment to coaching at St. Vincent de Paul High School.  But above all, his greatest love was for his family.

Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass, Friday, July 21, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 35 Liberty St., Petaluma.  A Vigil Service will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 7:00 pm at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pengel Memorial Scholarship Fund, 849 Keokuk St., Petaluma, CA 94952 or St. Helena Hospital Foundation, Attn. Adventist Heart Institute, 10 Woodland Rd., St. Helena, CA 94574.  Private Inurnment.
