Marlene V. Stewart

MARLENE V. STEWART passed away on November 30, 2016 in Petaluma at the age of 71 years. Devoted wife of Jerry Stewart of Petaluma. Cherished mother of Tina Huber (Eric) of AZ and Cynthia McKenzie (Robert) of Petaluma. Adored grandmother of Scott and Austin McKenzie both of Petaluma. Loving daughter of the late Vivian Straub-Marty and Alfred Straub. Dear step-daughter of the late Charles Marty. Marlene was born, reared and educated in Petaluma, graduating from Petaluma High School. She met the love of her life, Jerry, at the Petaluma bowling lanes in 1960, and they were united in marriage on October 20, 1962. Marlene worked for the USDA as a federal food inspector for 27 years, finally retiring in 2005. She was quite the sportswoman, especially skilled at fishing and bowling. She was a member of a Petaluma bowling league and bowled in every state tournament for over 50 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling and was an excellent cook. Above all, Marlene loved her family. She was a wonderful woman and will be greatly missed. Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass, Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 35 Liberty St., Petaluma. A Visitation will be held on Monday, December 5, 2016 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma with the Vigil Service at 6:00 pm at St. Vincent's Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Sutter Care at Home, 110 Stony Point Rd., Ste. 200A, Santa Rosa, CA 95401. Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Petaluma. Visitation
