Marlis Lee Gordon Forbeck

Peacefully passed into the arms of the Lord on September 26, 2014 in Santa Rosa. Marlis Lee Gordon was born June 25, 1932 in San Francisco, CA to Norma Craig Gordon and William "Bill" Gordon. She married Fred Forbeck, Jr. on January 17, 1951 and moved to Hawaii as a Navy wife and then to Southern California for several years eventually ending up in Santa Rosa, CA. A beloved wife, mother and friend who is survived by her husband, Fred; daughter, Lynn Harper; sons, Fred Forbeck, Kirk Forbeck and Eric Forbeck. She loved and enjoyed her grandchildren Aaron, Kelsi, Neal, Jenae, Trevor, Tyler and Dylan; and her great grandchildren Adrienne, Max and Morgan. Marlis was preceded in death by her brothers, Craig Gordon, Bill Gordon Jr., Duane Gordon and Leonard Gordon. Her selfless devotion to family and friends was apparent to all, with the needs and comfort of others always taking priority over her own. She had an amazing heart of gold and the soul of an angel. Mom was always proud of her family and Scottish heritage and had a passion for tennis. We will miss her stories of growing up during WWII and living with her grandparents during that time. All that knew and loved her feel blessed to have been a part of her life. We love and miss you. Always in our hearts! Services will be private and inurnment will be at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, Dixon, CA.
