Martin Pozzi left this world on April 7th 2016 at the age of 91. He was born February 28th 1925 in Petaluma and lived a very full wonderful rich life here. He was raised on a farm milking cows and working the land from dawn to dusk. Martin entered manhood early when he volunteered to serve his country during WWII. He served on the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier from 1942 to 1945. After the war he met the love of his life and soul mate Dolores. They met on Petaluma Blvd when he stopped to change a flat tire on the car Dolores and her mother were driving. From that point forward they shared a very special bond and many interesting adventures during the course of their 65 years of marriage.
Martin was an entrepreneur at heart who started his career as a union carpenter and then became a contractor known for building high quality custom homes in the area. He was also an avid trap shooter winning several awards and became a lifetime member of the Valley of the Moon Trap Club. Family was very important to Martin who always tried to express both with words and actions what it meant to be a loving husband and father.
Martin is survived by his wife Dolores, his son Martin and daughters Linda Hutchinson and Lisa Higgs. Memorial service will be 1pm Thursday April 14, 2016 at Parent-Sorenson Mortuary 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma. Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing Martin will miss him and the family requests that donations be given to Memorial Hospice in lieu of flowers. Funeral Service
