Martin W. Shields - Passed away May 20, 2007 in Santa Rosa. Devoted husband of Dottie Mae Shields of Rohnert Park and the late Dorreen Shields. Beloved father of William Shields (Janace) of Napa, Steven Shields (Marlene) of Clearlake Oaks, and Richard Shields (Carol) of Pilot Hill. Beloved step-father of Fred Mansen (Kresten) and Brad Mansen (Kathy). Adored grandfather of Greg, Carrie, Paul, Aaron, Ryan, Jamie, and Danielle Shields. Adored step-grandfather of Jonathan, Andrew, Heather, Kacie and Devon Mansen. Cherished great-grandfather of Tristan Shields. Loving brother of Thomas, James, John, Robert, Mary, Virginia, and the late Thelma. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Age: 83 years. A Member of: Moose Lodge #475 receiving the honor of Moose Legionnaire in early 2007, Petaluma IOOF Lodge #30, Past Exalted Ruler of Petaluma Lodge B.P.O.E. #901, Past Commander of Cotati #103 American Legion, and SIRS. Martin was born, reared, and educated St. Clairsville, OH. He enlisted in the US Air Force and served during WWII. Upon settling in Petaluma, Martin worked as a rural mail carrier for 33 years, retiring in May 1979. He enjoyed traveling, especially throughout the US and Mexico, as well as hunting.
