Marvelle Ione Bordessa

Passed away, November 22, 2018 in Petaluma, CA, at the age of 88. She was the beloved wife for 55 years of the late John Andrew Bordessa Sr.  Loving mother of Alice (late John) Radtkey, Andrea (John) Barella, John (Kit) Bordessa Jr., Adele (Robert Purvis) Bordessa, Angela (Harry) Mills, Jeffrey Bordessa, Jerry (Jean) Bordessa, Antoinette (Brian) Butts and Alexis (Kirk) Smith.  Cherished grandmother of 13 and great grandmother of 5. Dear sister of Joyce (Larry) Souza and the late Norma Angeli.  She was the daughter of the late Mona Davis Putnam, Virgil Davis and step daughter of the late Otis Putnam.  Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A native of Santa Rosa, Marvelle is remembered by her family as a protective and nurturing wife and mother. A homemaker, she was active with her children in 4-H, enjoyed sewing and being with her family.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 10, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, Petaluma. The Vigil Service will be held at the mortuary at 7:00 PM.  Family and friends are also invited to attend the Funeral Mass, Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church, 125 Sonoma Mountain Parkway, Petaluma. Interment will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Petaluma.  The family wishes to express their appreciation for the wonderful care given to Marvelle by her caregivers, Adriana and Sari and to the staff of Sunrise Assisted Living.  Memorials may be made to Hospice of Petaluma or to your favorite charity.
