Marvin Richard Lambert

LAMBERT, MARVIN RICHARD - Entered into rest in Santa Rosa, CA on August 26, 2013. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of fifty-one years, Della Sandra Lambert. Beloved father of Cheryl Freeman and step-father of Phillip Bettencourt. Adored grandfather of Nick and Brian Fleming and Angela and Danielle Bettencourt. Cherished great grandfather of Angelo. Also survived by his brother; Martin, and sister's; Lorraine and Charlotte. He was a native and life-long resident of Santa Rosa. He is preceded in death by his parents; Martin Lambert, Sr. and Anna (Ermer) Lambert, as well as one Aunt, Helen Lambert. Marvin went to Mark West School and then graduated from Santa Rosa High School. Following high school, he went to work for Cal-Wood Door and later was drafted into the U.S. Army. He was stationed at Fort Sill, OK and Fort Hood, TX. He eventually was deployed to Ansbach, Germany, where he was a Missile Specialist. Once discharged from Service Duty, he returned to Cal-Wood Door and eventually married his wife, Della "Sandra" (Alcalde) Lambert. Together, they had one daughter and Sandra brought her son from a previous marriage into the family, which Marvin cared for as a step-father. After having been employed with Cal-Wood Door for forty years, they closed and Marvin went to work for Empire Door. He was a member of the Carpenter's Union 751 and former member of the Rincon Valley Grange. The family wishes to acknowledge their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff of Sutter Medical Center of Sonoma County, especially Dr. Kenneth Lamb, the staff of Apple Valley Post Acute Care Facility in Sebastopol and to Park View Gardens in Santa Rosa for their kindness and loving care they each provided. Marvin was kind, generous and loving. He will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. inside Madelyne's Chapel at Calvary Catholic Cemetery (2930 Bennett Valley Road, Santa Rosa, CA, 95404). LAFFERTY & SMITH COLONIAL CHAPEL (4321 Sonoma Highway, Santa Rosa, CA, 95409) will provide Visitation inside Madelyne's Chapel one hour prior to service time. Committal will follow at graveside. As an expression of sympathy, the family prefers Memorial Contributions in Marvin's memory be directed to Fresenius Medical Care and Dialysis Center (1020-2nd Street, Santa Rosa, CA, 95404).
