Mary Louise Gunn

Mary Louise Gunn - Louise Gunn, 84, of Santa Maria, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2007 in Petaluma, CA. She was born Mary Louise Wilson on August 3, 1922 in Hanford, California, daughter of Lloyd and Edna (Learned) Wilson. As a young girl, Louise lived on her familyâ??s dairy farm where she attended a one-room schoolhouse, had her own horse, and helped her brothers with the daily chores. During her early years she loved summer vacations spent at her grandparentsâ?? cottage in Cambria. Services will be held at Bethel Lutheran Church, 624 E. Camino Colegio, Santa Maria, CA on Saturday, May 26th, 2007 at 1:00 pm. Private inurnment will be at Santa Maria Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Hospice of Petaluma, 416 Payran St., Petaluma, CA 94952 or the American Cancer Society, 1451 Guerneville Rd., Ste. 220, Santa Rosa, CA 95403. Directors: PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, Petaluma, CA. At the age of seventeen Louise moved to Glendale, CA, and lived with her grandparents while she attended Glendale Junior College. While in college she paid for school expenses by taking dictation and typing a book for a geology professor. It was during this time that she met her future husband, Joe, who was living in the boarding house next door. Joe and Louise were married August 28, 1941 and spent 60 years together in North Hollywood, Van Nuys, Simi Valley and Santa Maria. Joe passed away on April 13, 2002
