Mary passed away peacefully at her home in Petaluma. She was the beloved wife of David Hanna, mother to Kari (Sal) and Janet, and grandmother to Antonio, Kayla, Aaron, and Arielle.
Born in Butte, Montana, to Anton and Agnes Jovick, Mary was sister to the late Jacob (June), Dorothy (Bill), Dolores, Anton Jr. (Shirley), and Esther. Her family moved to San Francisco, where she graduated from Presentation High School and worked for Pacific Gas & Electric until retiring to Petaluma.
Mary shared a special bond with her family, especially her niece, Laurie and nephews, Mark and Paul. Her grandchildren were her heart and soul. She was a very thoughtful person and loved sending cards for every occasion to her family and friends. Known for her humor and joy in baking bunny cakes, making Christmas fudge, and creating the best bleu cheese dressing. She cherished simple pleasures like shopping at Macy’s, enjoying burgers, onion rings, fried chicken, and the occasional martini. She loved watching football and was a faithful fan of the San Francisco 49ers.
She lived her life with deep Catholic faith and devotion. She will be missed greatly.
