Mary Laverne Larson

It is with deep sadness that we say goodbye to our beloved Mary Laverne (Merrill) Larson of Petaluma.

Mary was born in Nebraska and grew up in Marin and Sonoma counties and graduated from St. Vincent de Paul High School in Petaluma in 1956.

Mary’s passion and strong faith led her into a nursing career for over 30 years (primarily with Novato General Hospital).

She was predeceased by her parents Albert and Violet (Becker) Merrill and her brother Lawrence (aka Butch) Merrill, and by her daughter in law Sherry Larson.

Mary is survived by her three sons, Matt Larson (Kimberly), Colt Larson (Leslie), and Scott Larson, and by her two brothers Gerald Merrill (Darrie), and Dennis Merrill (Bonnie), along with several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and her good friend Shirley Merrill.

Mass will be held for Mary at St. James Catholic Church in Petaluma where she volunteered and attended when she was well. Service will be at 11:30 am on Friday, February 25, 2022 and her friends and family are invited to attend.
