Mary Lou Loustalot

May 20, 1924 — October 24, 2021

Heaven was blessed on October 24, 2021 at 6:45 a.m. with the arrival of Mary Lou (Casey) Loustalot.  Mary Lou was born on May 20, 1924 to Evelyn and Joseph Casey.

She spent her younger years in Iowa          preparing herself for a full life.  Upon graduating from high school, she was so excited for the next chapter in her life, however, WWII had other plans for Mary Lou.

Mary Lou joined the WAVES and served in Alameda.  While in the WAVES, she met her commanding officer, Ernie Loustalot.  They married and soon started a wonderful family spending time in San Francisco, D.C. and Louisiana, before finally settling in Petaluma.  Their family grew to include their five children.

Through the years she volunteered at all of her children’s schools, St. Monica’s Mothers Club, the St. James Ladies Guild, the Council of Catholic Women, YLI, Kaiser Permanente, sang in the church choir, and supported the WAVES.  For many years, she participated in the Veteran’s Day Parade.

Mary Lou was a devout Catholic attending Mass at least weekly. Thirty-eight years ago when Ernie died of a heart attack, Mary Lou became a world traveler for many years and thoroughly enjoyed traveling to places far and wide.

Mary Lou was always the fashion maven and never left the house without a perfectly coordinated outfit and every hair in place.

Mimi, as her grandchildren loved to call her, is survived by her five children Ken, Linda, Anita, Carol (Michael), and Peter (Melinda), 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and her special friend of many years, Paul Lesage.

The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to caregiver Vani Dulaki, to the staff at Creekwood Senior Home of Novato, and Hospice by the Bay of Marin.
