Mary A. Nunes

Mary A. Nunes - It is with great sadness that we report the loss of our beloved Mary A. Nunes. She passed much too soon from this life on October 14, 2011 surrounded by family and friends after a brave battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary S. and Anthony T. Nunes. She leaves behind many family members and friends. We want to extend our thanks to the Cancer Care Center, UCSF-Mt. Zion staff, and Marin General Hospital for their wonderful care during this last year and a half. Also, thank you to the Cancer team for their love and support. Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass, Monday, October 24, 2011 at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Parish, 1000 Cambridge St., Novato. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2011 from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma with a Vigil Service at 7:00 PM at St. Anthony of Padua Parish. Memorial contributions may be made to IDESI of Novato, American Cancer Society, Marin County Food Bank, Project Open Hand, or your favorite charity. Entombment: Valley Memorial Park, Novato. A native of Marin County and member of a Novato pioneer family, Mary was raised in Novato on the familyâ??s Nunes Home Dairy. She graduated from St. Vincent de Paul High School in 1972 and from Dominican University in 1976. She recently retired as assistant office manager of the Corte Madera Department of Motor Vehicles after more than 32 years of service to the community.
