Maureen L. Bettinelli

Maureen Bettinelli passed away peacefully on the morning of June 6, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 58 years, Lauren; her children, Bridget (R.D.) and Christopher; and her beloved grandchildren, Analise and Marco. Maureen’s warmth and kindness touched many, and she will be deeply missed by a wide circle of extended family and dear friends.

She was predeceased by her mother and stepfather, Kathryn and Charles Pronini; her father and stepmother, Elmer and Gladys Starke; her sister, Kathleen DeBernardi (Vern); her brother, Fred Starke; brothers-in-law, Jim Bettinelli and Frank Silva; and sister-in-law, Claire Lucchesi. She is survived by sisters-in-law Mary Gayle Starke and Joan Silva.

Maureen cherished her role as grandma to Analise and Marco, her two greatest joys. Living just five houses away, she loved being a part of their everyday lives and treasured every moment spent with them.

Maureen grew up in Petaluma, attending St. Vincent Elementary and High Schools, graduating with the class of 1961. She went on to attend the College of Marin and became a Registered Dental Assistant. A devoted member of St. Vincent de Paul Church, she served faithfully as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteered with the Parents and Friends Organization for the St. Vincent Schools.

Together, Maureen and Lauren created a lifetime of beautiful memories through their travels, from Europe and Hawaii to Alaska. She especially looked forward to the annual family gatherings at Kings Beach, full of laughter and fond memories. In later years, she enjoyed visits to the Peppermill in Reno with family and friends.

Memorial donations may be made in Maureen’s honor to St. Vincent de Paul High School, O’Brien Center for the Arts, Petaluma Hospice, or a charity of your choice.

A private burial has taken place. A Celebration of Life Mass will be held on June 24 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church, followed by a reception at the Petaluma Golf and Country Club.
