Melvin W. "Babe" Thompson - Passed away in Santa Rosa, CA, May 26, 2009, beloved husband of Lorene Thompson of Petaluma. Dear father of the late Ronald Thompson. Adored grandfather of Franklin Thompson and Amber Thompson both of Carmichael. Foster father of Ray Soper of Penngrove. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service, Saturday, May 30, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma, CA. Visitation will be held at the mortuary on Friday, May 29, 2009 from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Entombment will be private at Cypress Hill Memorial Park. The family prefers memorials be made to Hospice of Petaluma, 416 Payran St., Petaluma, CA 94952. A native of Petaluma, CA. Age 91 years.
