Starts at 1:30 pm (Pacific time)
Michael “Mike” Arnold Dolcini passed away on May 10, 2026.
Mike was born in Petaluma, California, and raised on his family’s dairy ranch in Hicks Valley. He attended Lincoln School and Kenilworth Junior High, and after a brief time at St. Vincent’s High School, he graduated from Petaluma High School.
As a sophomore, Mike won the lightweight division of the World Wristwrestling Tournament in 1969 and went on to win the same division again in 1970. After graduating, he bought a truck and began hauling hay, later working for North Bay Construction before starting his own companies, West Ridge Construction and Farr West Construction. He spent much of his life outdoors, working with his hands and creating a life for himself along the way.
Mike enjoyed a variety of hobbies over the years. He spent time water skiing and later became a master scuba diver, traveling to Mexico and the Caribbean. He also enjoyed golf for a period of time. In 1998, he took up trapshooting and continued with it for many years, earning numerous trophies and forming lasting friendships at shooting clubs throughout Northern California. He remained involved in the sport until recent health issues made it difficult for him to continue. He was also dedicated to his time at the gym, where he built not only strength but a close-knit group of friends he valued deeply. Throughout his life, Mike put everything he had into whatever he set out to do.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Arnold Dolcini; his mother, Elizabeth “Betty” Whyte; his brother, Douglas Dolcini (Kathy); and his longtime sweetheart, Michelle Mathews. He also shared a meaningful connection with her son, Scott Mathews, and her brother, Joel “Chuck” Rosen.
He is survived by his siblings: Stephen Dolcini; James Dolcini; Katherine “Kitty” Dolcini; Paul Dolcini (Dawn); and Susan Bianchi (George), along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A very special son, Mike was born on his mother, Betty’s birthday and passed away on Mother’s Day. He will be remembered for the life he built, his dedication to the things he cared about, and the strength he showed in all he did.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 1:30pm at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 35 Liberty Street, Petaluma.
