July 22, 1950 — July 15, 2014

On July 15, 2014 MICHAEL GINGHER passed away suddenly from cancer in Santa Rosa. Devoted husband of Janet Gingher of Cotati. Cherished father of Kevin Gingher and Kody Gingher both of Cotati. Beloved son of the late Marjorie and Milton Gingher. Adored brother of Dawn Kerrigan (Tim) of Sonoma, Patrick Gingher(Joni) of Nice, and the late Christian Gingher and Kevin Gingher. Loving brother-in- law of Faith Gingher of Cotati, Sandra Temple of Petaluma and Richard Berglund of Sunflower Flat. Dear uncle of Tim Kerrigan (Nanci), Sean Kerrigan, Kelly Kerrigan (Christina), Krissie Crowther (Kevin), Susan Roca (Peter), Randy Temple, DeeAnn Geth, Richard Berglund (Joann), Marie Hebrard (Michael), and Molly Porras (Moises). Age: 63 years. Michael was born in San Francisco, but reared and educated in Novato. On July 23, 1977, he married the love of his life, Janet, and together they enjoyed nearly 37 years of marriage. Michael worked in construction where he met his good friend Guido Giannini. He then became a custodian for the Cotate Rohnert Park Unified School District retiring in 2009. After retiring Michael kept busy working with his longtime friend Jim Aggas. He was a car and truck enthusiast. Michael enjoyed restoring many early model Chevy trucks with the help of his close friend Brian Lemieux and could detail a car like none other. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and working in his yard. Michael was a kind person with a heart of gold and a gentle soul; his love for his family and friends came first. He was a wonderful man; he will be missed by his many friends and loving family. Friends and family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life, Sunday, August 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma, CA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to NorCal Boxer Rescue at NCBR Headquarters 1520 E. Covell B-5 PMB #262 Davis, CA 95616. Private Inumment.
