Born September 23rd, 1937. He was 80 years old. Mike passed away Wednesday night with family in his home in Petaluma. With both of his parents deceased, Mike was a busy body and enjoyed many different activities with many of his friends. He was a fisherman and loved going to Alaska with his fishing buddies. His dear friend Ed Pollack and even his son, Mark Pollack, would go with him. Once Ed passed away, Mike took Mark under his wing. They would go fishing together, go to Reno, visit Hopland Casino and had weekly lunches for many years. He loved his daughter, Barbara, and grandson, Royce, very much and would visit with them as much as possible. Mike had cancer for many years. He was resilient and a fighter, but after getting cancer a second time, he lost the battle. Hospice came for a short time and were wonderful to him and to the family.
He leaves his wife, Pattie Hansen, his daughter, Barbara Laforge, and grandson, Royce Laforge. He also leaves step-children, Rick Wilson and Tami Wilson (who passed in 2006). He leaves step-grandchildren Beki Eckhart, Allison Heinlein, Brad Wilson and Travis Wilson. Also the great- grandchildren, T.J Eckhart, Jackson Eckhart, Riley Wilson, Parker Wilson and Dillon Wilson. He leaves his dear friends, Mark Pollack, Gene Heinlein, Linda Heinlein and family back in Oklahoma. Private family services will be held. We will gather later for a luncheon and all are welcome. Contact Pattie for more details.
