Michael H. Pettibone - Born in Redmond, Oregon, raised in Eastern Washington, graduated from Gonzaga University, Spokane, WA with a B.S. in Chemistry and a degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Washington, Seattle, WA. He worked 30 + years for Mining Engineering Companies, traveling throughout the world.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated, Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, Bodega, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Teresaâ??s Restoration Fund, P.O. Box 404, Bodega Bay, CA 94923.
He retired to Bodega Bay where he enjoyed golfing and the many gatherings of family and friends. He was an active fisherman and enjoyed nothing more than a fish or crabbing trip with family, followed by a salmon barbeque and fresh fish for everyone! Nice memories, great stories and many fantastic meals! Mike also enjoyed sharing his knowledge of the ocean as a docent at the U.C. Marine Lab, and for many years volunteered for the Rural Food Program in Occidental, CA. He was active as a parishioner of St. Teresaâ??s Church in Bodega, serving on the Parish Council, and as a parish representative to the Diocesan Pastoral Council.
