Mickie Rovai - Passed away on June 20, 2010 in Sonoma, after a long illness. Devoted wife of the late George Rovai. Cherished mother of Ken Rovai (Rebecca) of Napa and Georgiann Rovai of Sonoma. Adored grandmother of Erin Flint (Matt) of Napa and Kevin Rovai (Shelby) of Sacramento. Loving great-grandmother of Sydney and William Flint of Sonoma. Beloved aunt of Shirley and Louis Robinson.
Mickie was born in Marshall, CA to Anna (Mossi) and Carlo Baranzini. She was married to George Rovai and together they enjoyed 57 years of marriage. She worked at the Toscano Hotel, for her beloved Amelia Walton and later as a sous chef at the Depot Hotel in Sonoma. She also provided child care, raising several of the children as her own. Mickie loved her garden, entertaining friends and family, and in her later years, learned to explore the world, making numerous trips to Italy and Switzerland. Above all else, Mickie loved her family and friends; she will be greatly missed.
Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass, Thursday, June 24, 2010 at 2:00 PM at St. Francis Solano Church, 469 3rd Street West, Sonoma, CA 95476. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St.,Petaluma, with a Vigil Service at 7:00 PM at St. Francis Solano Church. Entombment: Friday, June 25, 2010 at 11:30 AM at Sonoma Mountain Cemetery, Sonoma.
