Muriel Adele Solar (Nee) Ichelson)

We are saddened to announce that Muriel Solar passed away quietly in her Santa Rosa home on May 12th, 2015. She was blessed to be attended by both her daughters, Jill de Witte and Andi Christman. Murie now joins her husband Bernie and leaves behind four granddaughters, Liana & Casey Young, Theresa & Sarah Christman; her grandson Skylar de Witte; two great grandsons, Parker & Roman Felberg; and her son-in-law Maarten de Witte. Her best buddy and ever-present service dog Pepper will join a new family of loving friends. Murie traveled far and wide, making friends everywhere. She made an immediate impression with her unique sense of humor, which was a bit sly but never malicious. Intellectual inquisitiveness and moral strength were her greatest virtues. She loved the arts. Murie spent most of her life in Philadelphia, but moved to Northern California to be with her daughter Jill's growing young family several decades ago. She and Bernie shared the last years of his life in Laguna Hills, joining many of their dearest friends from childhood in retirement. She returned to Santa Rosa last year to enjoy life being closer to her daughters. Everyone who knew Murie will miss her dearly. We will all carry her love with us wherever we go. My Family ~ My Heart.
