NEIL STEPHENS JACKSON of Petaluma, passed away unexpectedly on February 10, 2016. He was 51 years of age.
Neil was born in Hull, Yorkshire, United Kingdom, on October 14, 1964. At the age of 18, he joined the Royal Marine Corps and almost immediately saw action in the Falkland Islands campaign. From there he served in Northern Ireland, and in Operation Desert Storm where he was a Commando in the Special Boat Service. He rose through the ranks, and was a Staff Sergeant when he retired in 1996. Neil married Kristena (Tena) Sherley of Ross, California, having met her while she was a Peace Corps volunteer in Belize. Neil served in Belize for six months, as elements of the Royal Marines and the British Army were training in the jungle.
After leaving military service, Neil and Tena settled in Petaluma, and raised three children: Conor, 19, Kellie, 17, and Emmy, 14. He was employed for nearly 20 years by AT&T, a firm that he dearly loved almost as much as he loved golf.
Neil is survived by Tena and their children of Petaluma, and his two boys from his first marriage, Kyle and Ben, his sisters, Paula, Julie, and Mandy, and his parents, Brian and Brenda Jackson, all residents of the UK.
