Noel Harding Merrihew

NOEL HARDING MERRIHEW passed away on February 19, 2017 in Santa Rosa at the age of 96 years. Devoted husband of the late Dorothea Merrihew. Cherished father of Kirstin Merrihew, Sigrid Palmer, and Rolf Merrihew. Adored grandfather of Jennifer Palmer. Loving brother of the late Claude F. Merrihew, Jr. Survived by one niece and two nephews. Noel was born in NJ, but reared in Alhambra, CA. During WWII, he served in the US Army. Noel received his undergraduate degree from UCLA and Juris Doctor from USC. In August 1957, he married the love of his life, Dorothea, and together they enjoyed nearly 35 years of marriage until her passing in 1992. He worked for the State of CA in the Dept. of Corporations for 25 years, retiring in 1982. In his spare time, Noel loved to travel and continually fed his intellectual curiosity. He lived a good life, and he will be missed. At the family's request, private services will be held. Interment: Cypress Hill Memorial Park, Petaluma.
