Norman "Tom" Siebe

April 27, 1947 — March 23, 2022

We are saddened to announce the passing of Norman “Tom” Siebe on Tuesday afternoon March 23, 2022.  Tom was born to Norman Earhart Siebe and Frances Carol (Wilson) Siebe on April 27, 1947 in San Jose, CA.  He was raised in Santa Rosa and Petaluma.  Tom graduated from Petaluma High School in 1965 and the Santa Rosa JC Police Academy in 1967.

Tom met the love of his life Carol Corda in October of 1968, and they were married on March 21, 1970.  He was the devoted father to David Siebe (Janet) and Meredith Leask (Josh); doting grandfather to Audree and Lucas Leask, and caring brother to Ron (Cynthia) Siebe, Joanne Siebe, Mary (Jim Hibbard) Siebe.  Tom is survived by his mother-in-law Minnie Corda, sister-in-law Nancy Corda (Gary Collins), brothers-in-law Hank Corda (Karen) and David Corda. In addition, he was a loving uncle to numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  Tom worked for the Sonoma County Sherriff’s Office for 34 years, retiring in 2003.  His work included being Chief Deputy Coroner where he received CA State Senate Certificate of Recognition for his twelve years of dedicated service to the Redwood Empire SIDS Affiliate.  Tom also received merit awards from the CA Government Office of Emergency Services for his service after the Loma Prieta Earthquake in October of 1989.  He was instrumental in establishing Sonoma County’s first morgue in 1990.  In addition to his service to the Sonoma County Sherriff’s Department, he served from 1979-1985 on the Board of Trustees for the Wilmar Union School District.  He was a member of the Petaluma Elks Lodge #901, the Nicasio Parlor of the Native Sons of the Golden West.

Tom enjoyed the outdoors, playing cards and dominoes, spending time with family, socializing with friends around the BBQ, and sharing a “corny” joke with anyone willing to listen.

The family wishes to thank: Kaiser Permanente San Rafael ER and Hospital staffs, By the Bay Hospice Care, Alegre Home Care, and friends and family for their love and support during this difficult time.

At the request of Tom, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you tell a funny joke or perform an act of kindness.  Monetary donations can be made in honor of Tom Siebe to the Petaluma High School Athletic Boosters Club and/or Petaluma Education Foundation.
